This is a lovely relaxed and laid back site. Campervan friendly and no strict rules about where or how you camp. They even lent us, sharpey and kenregency a fire pit and gave us loads of firewood. It's about 5 mins from the A1 so perfect if you're on a long North/South drive and want to break the journey somewhere in the middle. Facilities are a bit basic. Water and a toilet but at the time of writing it was £8 a night or £10 if you want a hookup. http://turnpikefarm.com/index.html
kenregency & kilmo & zed & sharpey & Jasonm I've got a fire pit and loads of logs and phoned the campsite. They said they were fully booked. When I explained who we were they said no problem come along. He couldn't promise any hook ups though but we'll get a nice place to circle the wagons.
Just realised I should of said this is booked for this Saturday so I hope we get some more vans turning up or me and Jan are going to be a bit lonely.
J It'd be brilliant if you can make it. We're getting there at about 1.30 to 2 o'clock on the saturday
I've told them there will be three or four vans coming down and that includes you. Plus, it's the sort of campsite where their not going to get too excited if an extra van or two turn up.
Nat will still be in Ghana until Monday, saying that at least I'd get a good nights sleep in the bus!!
Excellent news Jason. There should be another couple of small children there as well so we'll need scooters, footballs and bubbles as well as lots of sweets.
This sounded like fun till I realised it was this week and cannot make it. It is close to the Shuttleworth collection as well which I've always fancied having a nose at. Perhaps next time. Have fun all.
