Type 4 rebuild

Hi all. I have just brought an old type 4 1700 engine that I'm going o strip down, inspect and hopefully rebuild. Can anyone recommend a good easy to Follow book and/ or thread to assist me as its not something I have done before

I cannot reccommend Jake Raby (Bug Me) DVD enough - takes you through a full strip down and rebuild.

You might start talking like a good ol' boy by the end of it though!

Right about the accent ;D

 

Does that dvd also cover the type 1 engine?

Get Tom Wilson's red engine book. Required reading if you're taking the engine to bits.

 

Thanks for all you advice guys and Paul, your offer of free advice. I might want to pick your brains about a couple of issues with my current 2.4 type 4 I run at the mo as it scares me just to look at it!
