£26 a night sounds good to me.
Try Devon and Cornwall for eye-watering prices!

They've reduced it then or it's not peak season yet.
Last time we stayed it was over £50 a night.
    Hence we never went back.

  9. This is why I'm going to France. It's nicer weather and the municipal campsites have reasonable prices.

I find the more laid back places tend to have flatter pricing structures. So either an all-in for basic van-plus-2-adults-plus-awning, and then maybe a bit extra for electric, or just a flat price, but you don't have many facilities. It all gets a bit much when it's a charge for the van, a charge per person, a charge for an awning, a charge for electric, a charge for the dog, a charge for hardstanding, a charge for the shower, a charge for levelling chocks, etc.......

Even the all singing all dancing sites in France are considerably cheaper than here.
We stay at a site called Le Tedey on the west coast which is superb and reasonably priced.
Municipal sites are ok but most are pretty soulless and half full of the French equivalent of pikeys.

It could be that they don't charge a nightly rate for longer stays.
We've only ever done a few nights in any one place if we're in this country.

  13. I went to Uphill yesterday, it's a great little campsite.
Very clean and very quiet. Lots of dog owners there if that's your thang. Didn't take mine on this occasion but will in the future.
It's only an hour away from me door to door, so great for an impromptu camp out.
