Hi, replacing leaking brake cylinder and shoes as one is scarred as in photo.
Any ideas what could've caused it? [IMG]

As Davidoft says and leaving your handbrake on when it’s stood for weeks, sometimes they stick and then you hear a clunk and they’re free, but take bits off the shoe like that. Leave the handbrake off and chock the wheels if you’re not going to use it for a few weeks

I was given brake shoes for a transporter. As in photos the top holes are slightly different so spring at top wont go on(too short) if spreader plate on or, spreader pkate too long if spring is on...
Very frustrating afternoon. I put old shoes back fornow. [IMG][IMG]

I bought a set of brake shoes (from JK) and they didn’t have enough holes for the top spring. Queried it with them, the response was “they are all the same regardless “

Use the old ones as a template and a nice sharp drill, voila, sorted.
