My main memory is yukky old pigs trotters! All hideous and boiled and they had to be eaten. Apparently I would sit at the table with food in my mouth refusing to swallow it. However, as I wasn’t allowed to leave the table until I had done so I eventually caved. :)

I’m not sure you’re going to get any responses worse than that!

I can’t think of anything particularly bad… I may have to go and examine the depths of my repressed memories!

I promise I’m not being the grammar police….I don’t understand the thread title, I’ve even tried using a Barnsley accent (apparently the first thing the code breakers at Bletchley Park did durin’t T’war).

Although, rank as it was, it’s not as bad as pigs trotters!

  5. When I was about four my auntie said The you can’t leave the table until you have eaten everything and forcing me made me believe that Yorkshire pudding was horrible ,
I spent a good 20 years missing out on eating it because of that one episode .

    Ooooh - terrible food?

Right - at school - Spam Fritters, Spam unfrittered, peas that were huge and could not taste of pea anymore than they did, under cooked carrots, overcooked cabbage, watery gravy.

The only thing they ever got right was jelly - don't get me started on salmonella/semolina.

In my junior school you were allowed to leave 2 things on your plate - you'd be surprised what could be hidden under a spam fritter as the oberfuhrer dinner lady guarded the bin.

Of course, this issue was alleviated the older you got as you simply dumped your unwanted food onto the plates of younger kids.

Looking back - other than spam, stewed steak and other questionable sourced of protein - we rarely had chips or any derivatives of potatoes, pizza and all the other crap they feed our kids these days.

1980 and Motorhead played Leicester De Montfort Hall & the record store was doing bus trips to the gigs.

My parents said a firm no.

Conveniently, one of the lads at school had a sleepover to which they agreed to. We went to Motorhead..

  13. Didn’t Lemmy play 40 years ago at Stonehenge, in Hawkwind, on Solstice day?

Not sure, if it was Hawkwind it would have been more than 40 years ago, possibly?
