Lots of different ones it seems.
Which one would be best for preparing the jacking points prior to under sealing them. Fortunately the jacking points are in good order just need a lick of paint that's all.

  2. I wouldn’t use POR Nick. Expensive and doesn’t work well in my experience. A good wire brushing, a squirt with rust stabiliser (I do actually use POR Metalready), then a splosh of black Rustoleum. Best combination I’ve used.

Will check out the metal ready.
    Thanks and cheers Rich.

  4. Or any stabiliser, really - Kurust and the like. They all tend to be phosphoric acid (Metalready has some zinc as well). I used it because I had some! Just turns any remaining rust bits into iron phosphate, which is stable for painting over.

  5. If you can get the area back to bare metal, you have the option of zinc primer followed by epoxy two pack black. Otherwise, as above, Rustoleum seems to have a good rep.

  6. Just smother them in and out in Dynax

  10. Think it's just the smell of the solvent. EpoxyMastic really will get your lungs going, as it's effectively 2-pack. I can't go near the stuff any more.

POR will cement the lid on the can, tho', then go completely solid. I had to chuck mine out

In the end I went with Hammeright body underseal. Luckily all the jacking points are solid still, having been replaced about 12 years ago. 20220322_173033.jpg

Thanks for all the advice most welcome.

  12. That works pretty well in my experience. Dries to a kind of rubbery finish

  13. It’s good stuff when used properly
It’s bodgers slapping it straight over rot to hide it that give it a bad name.
