  3. when i joined the m25 on sunday in the rain i may as well have had a tarp covering the bus, i couldn't see diddly - still getting used to that aspect of running a camper. looking forward to heavy rain at night .

  4. I bought one last autumn. Since then my van has been left on the drive for a max of 5 days as since then it's been to get resprayed, at a mechanics to sort a few niggly things sorted out and is currently away having the seats recovered.

    £100 sat in the cupboard!!

  5. You are so right. As a kid I have always loved the sound of rain on a tent or caravan roof and now as I'm older it's even better in a camper van. Love it :)

  7. I've got one, had it on the van over the winter, I take it off when there is a day or so of sun to dry out and let the van breathe and I can only say that the van is fine, no mould, a little bit of condensation, (to be expected), but other than that it's good.

I do find that the cover keeps the van generally dry, the roof obviously gets the worst of it and as it the cover sits on it a few parts of the roof have slight markings on but as someone said, a bit of t-cut and it will be fine. I do think that without it I would have had much more water sitting in the van over winter.

I make sure the clips are all done up so it is secure on the van but give a little slack to let the air circulate.

It also acts as a good theft deterant I think. It stops the 'oh look at that van' chancers as they drive by as they can't see whats under it.

You pays your money you takes your choice...

  8. my mate that gave me the cover, puts his jk one on his t25 in october, takes it off march, dry as a bone.

  9. Ahaaaa, this brings us on to the SORN or not to SORN debate, I SORNED last year and would never do it again, ended up with some issues, I'll take her out over the winter from now on, I think it does them good to keep everything moving!

We bought one and then never used it for a while because the van was going to be thoroughly welded.

When it came back , the JK cover kept it nice and dry esoecially as we had to refit all the door seals and it started chucking it down.

Now the cover has flogged around a bit especially on the roofrack, it lets in some rain but as its breathable it dries off fairly soon. It stops the rivers of water through the windows and engine vents and as it turned out stopped much water going past the windscreen seal that fitted badly.

Its quite windy on the run up outside the garage here and the cover is forever popping off unless hauled down very tightly.

We dont really like it as it stops us from using the bus as its a bit more hassle to remove, and it really takes two people to put it on especially in the wind.
