  1. Having been for a little drive today (to get the Beetle from the MOT)
I don't know whether I like the camping or the getting there or just owning a bus.
    Your thoughts Ladies and Gentlemen.

i do like camping but the bus itself is a different experience, i love camping more in the van than a caravan it's just special.

  6. General ownership for me as i'm nowhere near camping yet:(

Nah, I can't wait to have a fast bus.
Then it'll be about the camping and the journey.

  12. Beetles are fun to drive. But unless you're a tiny wee fella or lassie (not the dog) you can't sleep in one.
Busses are (in my experience) a bit less fun to drive but you can camp/chill/sleep/dowhatever in them, take the dog. In an ideal situation, i'd have a beetle as well to drive every day.

  14. At the moment it's all about working on the bus and keeping my hand in (office job keeps me stationary) took it to the mot station today and got satisfaction that it drives so well and the cab was such a nice place to be. Looking forward to when its finished and the family holidays m days out can start. New baby forces sentiment.

  15. I just love the whole camping experience, I sleep better in the van than in my bed in the house! Also, when I am feeling stressed out from work, I just go and sit in the van - maybe make a cuppa and the van seems to have a special calming effect on me.

  16. The general ownership thing is a big thing for me - I grew up with a bus and yearned for one for years after. I got one of my own and made the mistake of getting rid when things got a bit much for me to deal with. No regrets though, I bought another this year and I am loving just having it. I will though also be loving going camping in it again as I did before - the getting there is OK but no matter how much I love my bus I think any schlep down the motorway is just a means to an end. The real fun is being there and enjoying yourself :)

  20. General ownership I have to agree with. When I go camping in it without the kids I usually end up drinking way too much booze.

Sometime it is just nice to take a drive on a nice day and potter about in the bus.
