Why is one hot one cool

    Driving 20miles in the bugs lift the engine lid up one is cool the other is hot :thinking: :thinking:

    presume means one of the bugs i.e went out in 2? would think one has some missing tin other doesn't?

    Yup, I'd check the flaps are working correctly on both sides to start with and that the fan is spinning & blowing air evenly?

    Pink army has 2 beetles.
    One is running hot one is running right I'd guess. I assume they are the same sized engine?

    It could be any number of things.

    • Quality of oil
    • Missing tinware
    • Missing seals
    • Age of engineDriving styleWheel diameteretcetc
