Cheers dude Once You've taken a mould from an OG part, they easy enough... This time of year, I apply the gel coat of an evening, then lay up the matting the next day... day after that you can pull it from the mould... a couple of days to cure off fully and you can dress the edges Type 1 front and rears are currently available from kingfisher kustoms in GRP, but you still need to use a piece of beetle rear tin on the rear section... Plus the GRP parts that they sell are around 5mm thick... so not easy to fit!! I do currently have a front and rear piece of genuine LB tin on the shelf, so I'll look them out in the next week or so to see what shape they're in, and whether I can mould them easily enough!!
Paul, Would you know if they fit the early US spec heat exchangers years 72 - 74 only, they look like the UK CJ engine code versions like this http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares...shop.product_pID_99051_lang_EN_country_GB.htm Thanks
as long as they are the same as UK heat exchangers, then they should... I'll have a measure up and throw some numbers at you... might help determine if they do fit!!
I only have an OG right side tin and Paul's look identical to that from the pics me emailed. I have also compared the left side pictures with refs from the samba but have not brought pauls yet so not fitted them.
let me know how you get on mate as could do with a set too but it will be a while until i am ready for them
