1967 Lotus White Beetle Restoration (The Dreaded "One Year Only" - What was I Thinking?!)

Discussion in 'Restorations' started by Spacecowboyuk, Apr 27, 2017.

  1. Thought I would share with you the progress of this resto. I've owned it for a couple of years and after doing much work fell out of love with it and stuffed it into storage. I am recovering it tomorrow (mainly because my ex has had enough of my projects taking up space at her house - I can't think why?) and super excited to get it done. I will post pictures of her arrival tomorrow in the meantime I made these for the body to sit on and the floor pan to sit underneath:

  10. I'll PM you. I was going to put it on eBay at 99p start this weekend and let it makes what it makes as I am drowning in projects atm. I just need to be realistic with my time.

There are plenty of us Beetle types on here, so keep posting! It might even motivate me to restore my '67..

  14. Question: is it better to build the doors up off the car inc glass etc or attach doors first and build them in situ?

Go for it, its nice to see them being restored. Zebedee and 73Daisy Si are doing great, add to the collection

I find it easier to fit the doors first, then build them up.

  17. Ok thanks. I guess I need to consider not adding too much weight to the shell before I mount it permanently to the floorpan
