Engine rear crossmember - essential????

I had a panel van in the 80s. I bumped into the guy I sold it to a while ago. He said he got a new engine for it. One day it fell out on the elevated section of the m4. Of course I dont know the reason but only that its possible.

 

If you don't have an oil filter, change the oil after 50-100 miles or so.

When I did mine I went slightly overboard. I ran the engine up to temp then dropped the oil. That way any bits that may have been in the case will hopefully have been flushed out. Oil is pennies compared to replacing bearings
