Evil garage fairies

  1. When I lived in Nigeria, I had a beautiful 1970 1500 Beetle. I was going on 6 weeks leave to UK, so I changed the engine oil, did a "redex" job (pour oil down the carb until the engine stops) on the engine to inhibit it. Then you blank off the carb intake with a plastic bag, and the same on the exhausts.
Disconnect the battery, leave the car in gear, handbrake off etc. etc.
Part of the carb heat system was a little spring clip, which I put "somewhere safe"...................never to be seen again.
On my return, I had to write to my father in law to purchase a replacement in the UK, and mail it to me.

Years later, in Dubai, probably 40C and 95% humidity, doing the same proceedure to my bus, before going off on my annual leave, being all happy, I was drinking several long G & T's, while I beavered and sweated away..................then could not find my 3/4 full glass for love nor money!!
On my return, more or less imediately I saw my (empty, evaporated) glass 0n the garage shelf. The evils of drink:lol:

    Have they no mercy !!!

  6. today they hid an air deflector plate from under the cylinders (the ones they made me forget to take off before i took EVERYTHING ELSE to be powdercaoted ) I found it on a chair not in the workshop HOW? I reckon theyve been in my box of parts to be cleaned and added some more since last weekend. They must love my van and want to keep it in the garage because they are doing their best to stop me finishing it
