From someone who lives in the best part of the world in 'Devon' I do agree with you........ As much as it pains me......
used to go there years back before the surf centre ruined it was built. when you could sleep behind the fishermans huts, wake up at 5am and have a surf and park for free! love the place and have some great memories from there but i tend to go elsewhere for the beach like lusty or whipsiderry!
Agree with you, but never slept rough thou, love the place but over the last 20 odd years noticed alot of changes (for worse), and its got a bit of a Marmitee hole!!
slept there one february eve after travelling through the night from leeds for the student surf championships, my first time in newquay. fistral only had a dirt road as a car park and it was free! my bro in law lives there and my bro used to so i spend a fair bit of time down there and know the places to avoid seen so many changes over the years, my favorite bars skinners and the plum tree closed and turned into chav bars or charity shops. still love the place but have a different type of holiday there nowadays!
Been going there over 20 years now sometimes 2-3 times a year, now got a 10 year old girl who likes to 'surf' i was never young and never a ******* head!!, must be getting old!!, had some really good times and the other times can't remember!!, too many chavs now and i'm a grumpy old man who enjoys the quiet life now, but still love newquay!!
Will run out of time on Saturday to complete my Beach tour!!! I have to agree with the views on changes over the last 10 years especially! But the Bikinis make up for it!!!! Dark glasses boys that the future!!!!!! Not mine but feeling at home don't you agree!!!!
Charlie don't surf. Never been to Fistral. Prefer Mellon Udragle. Can still drive onto beach there. Hoots, Jings! Crivvens! Help ma Bob!
Could be just my pervert nature but when you said fistral baby I thought you were referring to the mother breast feeding in the fore ground?
That's beautiful....the water is just crying out to be swam in....maybe in the nuddy if no ones around....I thought Whitehaven beach in the Whitsundays was pretty gorgeous but just shows you don't have to go to the other side of the world to find a lovely stretch of sand.....plus presumably you don't need to swim in a stinger suit here either
