I has been replacing my fuel breather connections but can't get the new bits on as far as the old ones were. Easily seen by the exposed fresh paint on pipes! The connections are solid and a tight fit, but do I need to get them on as far as they were? Or how much is too little, when it comes to shoving one bit of pipe in another? Know what I mean?
Clamp you say? Should i be clamping them? There was no clamps on before. I'm talking about the connections for the pipes which go up to the expansion boobys in the air intakes etc....the one hidden behind spare wheel well for hexample
The rubber hose was missing from my breather pipes when I got my bus, so don't know what was there originally. So when I put the rubber fuel hose over the pipes I put a plastic tie wrap over the ends just to make sure they were sealed. I can't see them doing any harm mate.
Ooh you bunch of sauce pots, all this clamp talk. How about the two pipes that come off the top of the fuel tank itself, they is just flimsy toob, albeit 'original' flimsy tube, they'd squash upon any mention of clampage.
EXCELLENT, I THINK THEY ARE ON ABOUT THAT MUCH. PEACE OF MIND! THANKYOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION. ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO TURN OFF CAPS LOCK ON A SODDING PHONE?
Fair enough. I clamp mine to be on the safe side (and it only costs a few quid in clamps) as they're out of sight.
NOPE. TRIED DOUBLE TAP, PRESS AND HOLD, TAP TO THE MINUS 2. BLOODY THING DOES WHAT IT WANTS WITH NO REGARD FOR MY SANITY.
Hi guys. I'm looking to re-connect the fuel tank breather pipes on the van, but I can't see a connection on the air filter to vent them to (it's an oil filled filter). Did some bays not have the breather pipes at all?
James, Oil breather connects to the fitting on the "spout" (air intake nozzle) underneath and close to the oil bath. Tank breather connects to the fitting between spout and the duct that feeds the carb. You need to step up in size to fit it. An old ht lead may supply a suitable step up bit.
