Might one of you enlightened lads or lassies be able to suggest the best manual for working on the kombi. I suspect it might be Bentleys but not sure. As I am fully up to speed on type 3's fastbacks variants and beetles, I just want to make sure I,m sourcing the finer points of type 4 info from the best source. On another note I am working with vw's since I had my first one at 17, and am now pushing 70 . so less hair, fewer teeth, a touch grumpier , but love everything VW.
Bentley is very helpful (there is a download for a pdf on here somewhere). Haynes is also good for cross referencing and sometimes ease of a quick piece of information!
Gi ova You was half yorkshire last week...whats it gonna be next week, half Scottish from the Clan McBazza
It is not really compatible to German production M-Plate. And I could not find a simple decoding instruction for this South Africa plate. Also searching at this forum: https://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za First line looks like part of the FIN. 056 could be similar to German a steering lock. The red color and brown interior I expected something as 140 for red and 57/53 (see https://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=36641 ) Looks like to decode this is still a challenge... regards,
Now that I have introduced my self, should I be starting a thread on my bus in some other part of the forum if I need to discuss different parts of the forthcoming resto, so that I dont clog up the intro thread with resto information. And if so, where would that be, thanks,.
I’ll attach a few links for your perusal. https://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/buying-a-bus-vw-type-2a-and-2b-novice-guide.55487/ https://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/things-new-vw-bay-owners-should-know-thread.19058/ You’ll be as wise as us after reading those two. We don’t know a lot
