  1. @paradox, as everyone has already pointed out, this is commonplace for those enduring restorations. I too have felt my mojo wain somewhat lately and my resto is a short one compared to yours. I have felt the urge to do some other things, like fishing (I went this morning) and I know that my desire to get back out in the garage will return (maybe tomorrow actually) as I know that once mine is back on the road again I'll be able to do some long distance fishing trips in it. Keep the faith my friend and get it done as quick as is possible.

  2. I've abandoned more projects than I have completed ,if it makes you feel better..:hattip:

I know this couple who put their French house up for sale 10 years ago ,the wanted to sell and move near their grandchildren (devon),the payed 225k and wanted that money back ,they got offered 200k a few times and turned it down ,last month they sold it for 170k they have wasted 10 years of their life just wanting the money back ,now having troubles buying somewhere in high priced Devon ,them and the grandkids have missed out...

Cut you losses ,buy something else before your kids start uni...:D

  3. Oh yes and if there simply arent the funds or the time to get it finished then sell it on as it is.

  9. with an MOT and an interior chucked in I reccon you'd get that sort of money easy

  10. The thing is if i had the time and money to get it to that stage then id keep it

    Ive no engine or interior

It's amazing how much more you get for your money if you move away from a VW.

 If it had an MOT and an interior I don't think he'd be selling it in the first place.

  13. Engine wise what r u short of
I've got a crank and rods you can have. Not sure if it's cast or forged but you can have if needed. It's not been ground but could probably do with it.

  15. I do need a crank as the new one fitted at the last supposed rebuild is cast and the case ive bought has been cut for 1776 so i wouldent want to risk a cast crank

  16. You can do the basics of an interior fairly cheaply - my units cost about £30 for the MDF and the 'batten' wood I had lying around.

They don't look brilliant but are usable

We also got some old caravan / camper cushions off ebay for about £20.

A basic 2nd hand hob is about £20 so you're probably talking less than £100 once paint etc. is taken into account for a very basic but usable interior.

I realise that this doesn't include a R&R bed, fridge etc but it's a start.

  17. In all honesty if all the parts needed were to hand it would take someone under a month to make it a fully complete camper
I just dont have the time or money to do it
Ive got to the point where if i do have time and money id rather be out and about doing stuff which was kind of the point of buying a camper nine years ago

  18. I think your comment above was pertinent. If you can get enough to buy something thats good to go then do it i think.
