  1. Do you use the toll rd or does the cost put you of , i usually avoid it the last time i did use it i got chargede £5 one way and £9 coming back i did question it and they tried to make me pay another £4 because i had been undercharged i told them to stick it in there exhaust pipe . So it was with a smile that iread in one of the papers that its not paying its way and there are calls for it to be privatised and the the toll reduced ha i say :theforce: [IMG]

  2. I tend to use it when I'm on business and during peak times. Outside of that the std m6 is usually ok.

  3. absolutely no need for it to be that price... if they lowered it down to £2 per car they'd soon make the money back on what it cost to build!!

I used to use it, but I won't even entertain going on it these days!!

  4. Same thing to us £ 5 up and £9 back!

I am FAR too tight to pay, and as my van is slow I'm not going to gain much in time saved even if I did.

Do use it in the car - probably wouldn't in the van for sANDYbAY 's reason.

    Tuesday wildchild I'm a circle!

It doesn't go anywhere I want to or need to go and its the small thing of paying when there's another road i 've already pay for.

  9. When I had to make regular trips down South by car I would always use it, purely for convenience as wanted to make the journey a quick as poss - couldn't be bothered to sit in queues around spaghetti junction! Was worth it to me to pay the price
    :(

  10. I got charged £10 up and on the way back I didnt use it.
Went in the unattended lane, does anyone know how they assess the tarriff? Is it APNR or weight. I got charged as a lorry

  11. I looked it up and its height at 1st axle that gets us. Above 1.3m, its the fact that bays dont have a bonnet.

  12. yeah they tried that diff. fares crap with me years ago ,I simply refused to move ,take my >same fare I paid on way up <or call recovery to drag my bus away from this barrier ,mate .they ,in 2 mins allowed me thru with a promise (from me) that I would send the diff. and threats from them they had my reg No. and would pursue me via courts if I did not comply<and still I wait for said court paperwork, as you guys said, drop the blinking price !

  13. It's a vicious circle. Not enough people use it, so they put the price up to compensate, and that puts even more people off using it, so the price goes higher, etc etc etc......

Pretty pointless me using it - you are as far from my house at the end of the toll road as you are at the beginning!

  14. I was horrified paying tolls in France ,from me to Spain 55 euros toll... but you do get sick of driving through pretty little villages and you never get to your destination......:D

We have one From La Rochelle to Saintes , no-one uses it [except tourists] locally because the b road is very good ...

I went on the m6 toll road once ,because I got lost...

To increase revenue just make it compulsive for trucks to use it ,simples...:D

  15. No way would i pay to use a road that i have already paid for. We pay road tax, council tax, bear tax,fag tax, food tax, wage tax, fuel tax, tax this tax that i am f***ing fed  up of paying tax. So No i would not pay to use a road

  16. I've only been on the m6 toll twice, the first time was on the way to camperjam last year and there were roadworks at the beginning, just before the start. It would have been quicker to go the other way.
The other road is fine most of the time, particularly if you are travelling in a slow moving camper.
There was hardly any lorries on the m6 toll both times I went on it so I guess haulage companies dont see any economic benefit in paying for it.
I use google maps with free traffic information and it is pretty accurate. I'd only use the toll again if there were serious problems going the other way.

  19. I have been on that one! The Only Toll roads I use are in France, as pretty as those villages are you can knock a good few hours off which is what you need sometimes when rushing back for the ferry. M6 toll Naaaa never....

  20. I'll second that, get the trucks on there:thinking:
