No problem, mate First time we've met your lovely wife, too. I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities to have a few beers Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk
It's starting to take shape but still lots to do! I put the new tank in. Fabricated my own firewall bottom rail as the old one fell apart when I removed the floor and Schofields want £80 for one that doesn't even look like the original. I've used the old original sender unit for now, fingers crossed, it works. Also, the fuel filler pipe I've chopped up an old bus one instead of using the original double cab one as it fits better with the T25 rubber. Next is the door cil and the side door which you can't buy a panel for, so I've bought one for a splitty it's not an exact match but it's something to start with. I also need to sort what panel to buy for the front right wheel arch that includes the step the rot only starts halfway, so the left side is fine. I have a DVLA inspection tomorrow to get uk registered. I have no idea what that entails on the phone. The guy just said it needs an engine installed ( it doesn't have to run) it has to look like a car and have all seats and wheels fitted. Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk
Is that with SGS ? That’s who DVLA sent to look at mine. The inspector wanted to know if it was stock or modified (they’re not marque experts) and wanted to see stamped in numbers and build plates. My engine was barely in and not running at the time. It didn’t even have a battery. They took various photographs and left. The inspector wouldn’t be drawn into any conversation about the registration process with DVLA. They’re just a reporting agent. Good luck with the process. Stirlingmoz
Wasn't SGS the guy was from Yorkshire. He came today as you said he just looked at numbers and took some pics said I should hear from dvla in about a week. What did they put on your v5 mate he said they may just put it as a transporter. Surly not Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk
I made this centre support part removable by using ‘rivnuts’ and bolts. It makes fuel tank removal much easier. Stirlingmoz
The rear cab floor is finished. Made a start on the right dogleg. Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk
Tacked dogleg in this is the £400 Schofields panel and it still didn't fit right also the gap under the door is bigger than the original one on the left-hand side but it won't go any higher. Also new step/sil for crew door I just need to sort out the bottom of the B pillar. And finally after after six weeks waiting for DVLA Marmalade is uk registered Oh and a massive thanks to @Zed for all the tips, although I'm plug welding from the top as I hate welding upside-down. Me too, I don't think I suggested that! I don't think this gap is too far out, late bays do have a bigger gap there.
