    Be a bit like swapping your T2 for a T4/5 :D

The link to the Brazilian Bay site is offering an electric Bay for £44k. Not for me really but for those who like the Brazilian Bays, maybe an electric one will appeal. Says it has range of 150 miles.

  4. I just got an electric car as my daily driver. It’s amazingly quiet - you can drive along and have a whispered conversation.

There’s a section of York which is pedestrianised but you can drive through at 10mph at night. I have to keep flashing my lights as nobody can tell I’m coming.

  5. the same tired old "new" concept they've been rolling out every year or two for the alst decade or more... this time i looks exactly the same as last time but it's electric.

    Exactly!

Also....which these companies that producing self driving cars would stop calling the AI.

    It isn't.

  9. Battery power! One feature though is when I plug in to charge it I can also time it to warm up the car on mains power before I set off.

I told him he could have my services when he builds a pink one

  13. Pretty good, though the more heat you call for the less miles you'll get. If really cold there's also electric seats which are uncomfortably warm on max. I've not tried to do a run of more than 120 miles so far, which is adequate for the motoring I do these days.

I know this often comes up as a question - can you heat your bus (or even demist the windscreen) on battery power and the answer is usually no chance, so I'm quite impressed so far.

I guess you will have to learn to be frugal with the heating or get a bigger coat on long runs

  15. I'm told that if you put it on the most economical setting, which means no heat at all, and limited to 54 mph you can get 195 miles. I imagine that the best figures for the T2 electric bus are obtained under these conditions, that's if it's got a heater at all.

I would hope it has some form of heating otherwise winter driving would be a no no!

  17. It doesn't mention it on the web site and I think it would be important nowadays. Mind you we're all getting soft. I had a load of cars early on where there was no heater or it was only available as an optional extra.

  18. If it has a geared transmission rather than one motor at each corner I'd imagine lack of heat is not the issue.
The issue then is keeping a transmission cool that isn't bolted to a big heatsink. If they were smart about it ... but they're probably not

I am for it tbh. In my job I see too many really bad drivers and if I am totally honest I wouldn't mind having a kip while my truck takes me around the country
