I would love to see some pictures of your van and the offending oil-- do you do pictures?

  5. Just drained the oil and secured everything but cant find where to replace the oil. There an open 3 inch hole at the top right of the engine and i found a silver cap that sort of fits on it. Would this be where i replemish?

The oil filler should be obvious. On a type 1 it's rhs of pulley belt and has a big breather pipe coming off of it to the air filter. Don't know what engine you've got?

  18. Biggest advise I can give you is buy a Jayne manual. You can still ask questions on here but it will make the easier jobs not take do long. Changing the oil should take 30 mins. It's always good to get advise but making mistakes is a part of the learning curve
