  1. Fantastic! Exactly where my unit is going too!

  2. Time for another update. So, Oscar has finally made it out of the garage and been on a day trip, complete with family! I know I should have it finished by now but it has not been through lack of trying. The time just vanishes when you are working on these doesn't it?? Anyhow, knowing how everyone likes a good pic, here are the latest results of the jobs I've been getting on with...

The upholstery is finished and fitted. I am really happy with the look which is a bonus! The rear seat belts pass between the seat and the backrest to stop them getting tied up in the R&R bed hinges which works really well.

The carpets under the front seats were from a local guy who makes bespoke carpets for motorhomes etc. from pretty much any carpet you choose. I went for exciting midnight black :)

And I have one door card fitted so far...

The wheels were shotblasted and powder coated and a lot of elbow grease went into polishing some caps I collected from various places. I love the look!

The job of the moment is to fit the gas, electrics and heater which are all going under the bed. I have tried to make this as compact as possible and still serviceable. Hopefully will post the finished article sometime soon!

I guess I should get off here and get back out in the garage and get on with it!

  4. Did you cut out for the windows yourself?

  5. What brackets are your seatbelts mounted on above?? Is that factory or something you have made/ bought??

  6. The side windows? They were put in when it was converted from a panel van years ago.

  7. The brackets were home made from steel and seam welded onto the van.

  8. p3.jpg Love the upholstery. Orange rocks.

  9. Absolute beauty! nice wide bed as well. Nicely done!

  12. It will be our first weekend camping in it this weekend and we can not wait! The weather can do what it will but we will have a great time. I massively underestimated the amount of work that needed to be done...
