    It’s banned in a few countries but I suppose you choose it as it can be polished. :)

    It work hardens and can split – allegedly. Illegal in Australia and the USA (some states at least). I use copper-nickel and even that is banned in some places.

  15. Brand new shift rod boot from vw heritage fitted on 31/3/2016
    The bus hasent even been used and it's cracked and splitting already
    I'm getting proper flocked off at the carp quality of parts

    I know what you mean, laying under the van yesterday doing a bit of welding and noticed one of the cv boots had little cracks in it. I don't know what they make them out of but they are sh** quality compared to ones used on new cars. I wonder if I have a new vw car they would be this bad, I doubt it as I would just get them replaced due to being faulty....

    Knew I shouldn't have stopped at wire wheel stage... off to buy some brasso... it's only tuppence a tin!.... a least I used kunifer pipes where replacing ;-)

  19. I'm wondering if the nose cone on later late bays is longer and that's possibly why later bays have a different length and shape front mount and do away with the two round limiting stops
    Aswell has just having a flat bar clamp
