So how does it work, do you need more wiring or does it work from the bulb?

It a hub that you plug into you broadband wireless hub and then just change the light bulbs then on the app you name the lamps as you want then you control it wireless

No changes to the house electrics you just leave the light switch on, then control it through the app or just switch the house switch off then on if you want to use the switch

  6. I like it  (won't be getting one anytime soon, though!)

not quite it works on you wireless net work

  9. I like that a lot. I've an Apollo lighting kit behind my telly, which offers millions of different colours and is controlled by the Harmony One remote than all my other AV kits runs off. I've also got a Sonos system where all the music in the house and garden office is controlled by mobile and desktop apps, so that sort of "lifestyle control" really appeals.

You'd need your tablet to be charged all the time though...

  10. Sir Arthur Sonos I like, I've even got one wired up to the bathroom and toilet..
    Well not in the toilet.

This could be the next gadget in the house. Only problem is my lounge only has wall lights with 8 bulbs, could get a little expensive.

  11. Same here - we've got an upstairs bathroom and downstairs shower room. Both have got speakers mounted in the ceiling connected to Sonos boxes in the loft.

  12. Just read £180 for the starter kit then £50 per bulb.
That's nearly £450 for my lounge. That's a fair few normal bulbs I can buy.

  13. We've got S5 in most rooms, speakers wired into the bathroom and stairs and one wired up into the juke box. It's a great bit off kit.

  14. Nice. They didn't manufacture the S5 or the S3 when I put it together in 2008. I've seen telly ads for a Sonos TV soundbar now as well.

Still one of the best things I've ever bought though. Never met anyone that installed a Sonos system and wasn't delighted with it.

    The £180 includes 3 lamps
considering a normal good white led lamp is £15-£20 its not that bad

In saying that i will not be getting it i still have nasty old halogen ones

  17. I changed the bulbs in the kitchen at one of our old houses to 6400k cfls but the wife wasent impressed lol
    too clinical was her words

  18. The day my lightbulbs have an IP address, I'll shoot myself.

Mrs Moosey, paradox and zed like this.
  19. Mmmnnnn, got SONOS myself, maybe should start a SONOS thread, could talk about it all day lol! Rustydiver, with all those S5, you clearly have to much money at £350 a pop! :)

  20. I do like these, a lot!
