  1. How much should I expect to pay to have my panel van painted ?

  2. If you bring your own paint & help me mask up,
I'll turn it round in an afternoon for you for about seventy pounds.

Generally it matches the information given.

  6. Can I just point out that 1001 will clean a big, big carpet for less than half a crown.

It all depends on the state of the van to start with, the finish required, whether you want the insides done as weĺl as just externally, the quality of paint already on there, and the amount of prep required... I wouldn't hedge your bets at much under 2k for a fairly decent, basic, job. If you start there, you can go up and up and up.

OK, il try for a sensible answer...

It would help if we had more information, like how much metalwork, rust removal, filling it will need, 1 or 2 colours, engine bay, outside only etc etc, but I would say somewhere about £3-4K if it's outside only, into the door shuts, and no panels need replacing.

If you put a few pics up, folks would be able to guesstimate a bit better dude.

Its like this. A box of rattle cans will do it for maybe half that.
Spending time in preparation choosing a deep metallic finish with many layers.. then its thousands in labour before takimg materials into account. The answer is correct.

  11. I would ask a few other questions. How much is the panel van worth. What is your budget tops. Are you doing it up to sell it on or is it a keeper.

As said, if you want a professional spray paint job expect to have to pay a few thousand. After that big expense, would your van be worth that much more, maybe not.

Have you thought about a diy job using Rustoleum Combicolor paint. Some on here have done it, I have and so have many T25 owners on the club8090 forum.

    Its a good, cheap alternative.

  12. 5 litres of 2k, £59.
2.5 litres of fast hardener £21.95.
    1 litre thinners £5
5 litres of gun wash £10
    Gerson 2k mask £20

Bargain. Thats about what mine cost to paint, plus a few panels :) Its no show winner but looks very presentable :)

  16. Sorry I realized its a how long is a piece of string question , I've just been quoted £1500 to paint it , no rust just a bit if fillering ,prepping and painting . outside and door shuts .didn't seem bad but I've no idea how much people pay for these things .

  17. Are they going to take the windows out?

For info, my respray (bare body) cost about 2k (with prep after welding/filling) but that was about ten years ago.

  18. And if so are they going to cut the rubbers and not put them back in ?

  20. I asked this question too many people during my restoration. In the end i spent a week working at the body shop doing as much as I could. I also got a weeks training on filling and prep work.
It cost me £1000 cash for a 2pac inside and out.
