  3. Quick update: I've now been and sen Clive at Autotronix, he said the jetting was well out, so it has been a worthwhile trip.

I haven't done many miles since it has been set up correctly, but i would recommend Autotronix.

    They are about 5 minutes from J31 of the M1 01909 561119

So did it make a decent improvement?

  5. Is it rude to ask approx how much it cost to get this done?

  6. Very handy to know for future reference - also of the other chap in Alfreton (I have stuck with John Sherwin for years because I thought he was the only VW mechanic for miles around!!) as I am only in Clay Cross, but grew up in Ripley, so Alfreton is middle ground for me! might have to start driving to Alfreton Tesco to do my shopping instead if we have mini-meets in the car park! lol
.... well, if I can get my gearshift back together this weekend anyway, otherwise he's going nowhere

  7. Rolling rd set ups are approx £60-100. Mine cost more as I got them to change braided fuel pipes going to carbs, to r9 rubber pipes. Plus fitting a new 02 sensor in the exhaust.

  8. I can't really say if it made a decent improvement yet as I've only driven the van home, so far.

The engine drove great before anyway. Rather than trying to make it faster the reason I took it for rolling rd session was to ensure it was correctly jetted and not running lean or rich, which I understand can damage engines.

I think mine was running rich as the fuel consumption was terrible.

Atleast rich is better than lean!
    Lean causes over heating.
