No - literally nothing at all like Hugo Boss.

I'm not sure of you post this nonsense just to wind people up.

Hugo Boss was a member of the Nazi Party from 1931 - he happily used slave labour and saved no one from the Nazi's, he didn't live in an occupied country, didn't have to appease said invaders, didn't witness the campaign of terror they conducted on just ordinary citizens - leave alone the targeted groups we are all aware of.

He died in 1948. Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes are sponsored by the Company Hugo Boss left behind 65+ years ago.

If people want to draw dotted lines like that - then I've got bad news for you if you drive a Ford, a BMW, use anything made by Braun, Bosch or Krupps, use anything that uses a satellite etc etc.

  3. My dad started buying VWs in the early sixties because he was disillusioned with British cars after some bad experiences. He was a man of principles, however; he would never buy Japanese because of "what they did in the war," though he seemed very much at ease driving through the streets of Dudley in a modified Hitler KDF-wagen...

Oh not news to me mate. Ford produced engines for the Tiger tank apparently, or at least they were American based. Hitler admired Henry Ford for his mass production factories, ‘making more stuff, quicker’. Germanys production of guns like the MP40, (pressed out steel), were based on the factory principle of mass production. Also, I’m just talking about the scandal of Lewis Hamilton sporting the Hugo Boss fragrant, ie selling the product of the name of the Nazi party member,as you quite rightly wrote, in the middle of the black lives campaign. Sort of went against the grain of the whole thing. Not nonsense, my friend, but if it winds you up, that’s down to you for letting it. And I am actually an eight German, apparently, somewhere on my mothers side.
It’s just history. No need to throw your statue into the dock.;):D:thumbsup:

Isn’t it the reason for the ‘hippies’ in the states adapted the vw as a fun loving far out happy cheap ride as they thought the car was the underdog of everything Hitler stood for, then adopted it, as the love bug, to counter a f what people thought of them? I mean…who dosnt love a beetle?

So a black man, with a worldwide profile, shows some balls and stands up to show his unhappiness with the hugely disproportionate chance of a black American not surviving an interaction with law enforcement in the US, compared to a white person?

And it’s a scandal because his team, Mercedes is sponsored by Hugo Boss.

I’ll say the word Mercedes again so that all the people who think that Hugo Boss was the significant part of that, can take a hint.

Anyone with half a brain would have simply respected his right what with him being the only current black man in one of the worlds biggest sports, in fact the only black man in F1 to my knowledge ever, taking a stand.

btw, no idea why you reference mass production as a German aspiration during the war, it’s a well know fact that had they simplified machines such as the Tiger tank and produced then in higher numbers as the Russians dd with their tank designs, the outcome would have been different.

I note the statute comment, whatever.

I think you take a knee jerk reaction to what I write. Read it all again, but slowly…don’t be in such a hurry to reply…

@Soggz @Moons please just use the ignore button so you don't see what the other writes and therefore save the rest of us having to read you attempting to score points off each other. How the hell did Para wanting to buy a Skoda Yeti get to a slanging match about historic racism, slave labour and Lewis bloody Hamilton?? Just eat some more Easter eggs and enjoy your bank holiday!

Is that your standard reply to everything?

No one, apart from mealy mouthed racists had an issue with black people wishing to protest during Black Lives Matter.

No one, apart from mealy mouthed racists thought to point out that one of Mercedes (hitlers favourite mode of transport) sponsors aligned to the Nazi party 80 years ago and that should be a reason to discredit a black man from doing this.

You are the only person that does this on here, not once, you double down, just as you did with the immigrants in boats comments where having had several perfectly reasonable replies you roll out our standard ‘you need to read slower’ horsehit.

If you have such little self awareness let me call you out.

You are such a caricature safe in your small town, read something on Facebook written by someone else safe in their equally small town regurgitating machine I genuinely think it’s an act. but you consistency is genuinely outstanding.

How often do you do this on here? Say or do something thick, get called out on it, then hack away at it for page upon page like it’s a scab yo can’t leave alone eventually leading to the same sad conclusion …ether your ‘you’re too stupid to understand me’ trope, a mod steps in, or someone tries to say something funny to lighten the mood.

Never anything else, unless of course you invite a female to step outside with you…but of course that’s not what you said….despite saying it….and on it goes.

I’m calling you in it. You are a racist. On a site about old cars so Christ knows what you actually are like in the real world.

I suspect this thread will get locked or deleted, as yet again it turns into a shocker.

I think I’m going to join the ranks of people who conclude their only way to engage with you is to press ignore you.

Id prompt you to have a think yourself but out of everyone I’ve ever met, you simply seem incapable of that.

Apologies, your post appeared as I was writing mine, I didn’t see it.

I’ll serve time on the naughty step if that’s how we want to deal with it….strikes me as more than fair.

For what it's worth, my miserable little contribution to this thread is that my wifes cousin has a Yeti and has been very pleased with it for the past 5 or so years

  15. I inherited my late fathers 16 plate 2.0ltr yeti SE , 5 speed box (would be better off with 6spd IMO) it is a great car, very economical, enough power, loads of space inside etc. Highly recommended.
Have topped up ad blue around every 3k. Had one issue with ad blue nozzle clogged, garage replaced it (cheap repair ) and thet advised only use branded fuel not cheapest.

I’ll just write this to end it all. You have never met me.
    I’ll move on.

One of my clients has a Yeti, his wife gets her wheelchair in it well.
They have had it since new, and reportedly, it’s a very good car for their needss of Hospital and family visits.( The immediate family live quite a way away.).
Fuel return is good on them, and they have only had the known headlight bucket issue.
