  5. With the high cost of resprays and the fall in bus prices over the last couple of years
I wonder if we will be seeing more diy rustoleum paint jobs

a tip for anyone thinking of using rustoleum combi colour, mix it 70/30 with 100% Acetone , DONT use white spirit or thinners

Tell me more Barry. I think they suggest white spirit - why is it a no-no?

No no no, we experimented with everything, the Acetone finish was harder and shinier , you can get Acetone on eBay but it has to be at least 90%

  16. Rustoleum for the win! I repainted the top of mine in Brilliant White and it has lasted 4 years without issue. I painted my engine bay in the nearest I could find to Mexico B.eige and again it looks great plus the bottom 6 -8 inches of my bus has been done in the same colour, where I have made small repairs, and it is hardly distinguishable in colour from the original. I used to thin it and for brush painting I think that is wise, but with a high density roller it goes on nicely from the tin, and very little thinning needed. As others say prep can make the difference, so some light flatting is always a good idea and clean the area over with white spirit before application to remove any sort of wax etc. After each coat has dried flat back util you're happy with the finish. The top coat just needing any blemishes removing (when dry) and then usual polishing etc from about a week after it has been applied to give it time to cure. I only paint mine in dry warm conditions soit cures quite quickly. In winter as with any paint it can take forever!
