Looking at the picture it looks very nose high. MOT tester was asking questions too. The back doesn't look overly low. This has a very heavy duty tow bar on the back and had some monster trick mirrors sticking out the side when it arrived. This could answer why the back is lower. When I look at the other US buses they seem to have an even stance, typically suspension appears to be higher than the UK buses and driving them they feel more comfortable with more floaty suspension. I'm guessing they are set up like that because, say what you want about UK roads but US roads are appalling. So, looking at this does it look like something had been messed with at the front or back, if so, what, and what do I need to do to correct it. It drives just fine BTW but just looks odd
Too much wait in the back It may have been lowered as the rears are easy to do and front require quite a bit more work - they were probably being tight or lazy.
It may be that the back is weighted down and the front being high is an optical illusion due to it not having the standard wheels on, which I suspect would fill the front arch better. In other words the front is correct, the back too low and the wheels/ tyres are too small making the front height appear incorrect if you see what I mean,,,
I like it - it shouts DYNAMIC at me - it says here's a van not shy to put itself out there, not shy to lift a skirt and show a bit of thigh, it says GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I'm a tiger pull my tail..... It's hard to imagine I'm a non drinker isn't it.....
You just swivel on a different axis mate -- well done for being mental and proud I can take you out if your carer is ever off
I did go and say hello to Rick earlier as it happened, then I remembered he was off today so I didn't - I did however attempt a Vulcan mind map and say hello, but sensed panic in his mind as he drove so thought best to stop. I also picked up traces of a Scotch Egg, so it was plainly after lunch his end.
What you saying? Anyhow, how can I take the photo if I'm sat in the cab? It's great though that we can get me HWMBO and our youngest, who is now taller but not quite as heavy as HWMBO all together in the cab, in relative comfort. Tried the dog up front for 2 seconds yesterday, he now weighs 32kg, put on 6kg since we got him - driving doesn't work with him sat on my lap.
Hmmm. Thought that one too, but it doesn't have a low back, it has a high front. Rear height in comparison to others with a saggy arse is high
Mine looks the same. Considering coilovers to boost the back a little. Not going lowered as I've got a low bug. Too bouncy.
If you plonk a minimum of 80kg in the cab, it's going to level off... hence when you jump in it looks normal to anyone passing
Paul do you think mine will need some adjusting at the back considering the weight of the extras ill be carrying on the rear?
Assuming the trim hasn't been added, it's a microbus and they had softer rear suspension than kombis and panel vans, my van's the same and it's my theory that the softer suspension sags more over time. I'm running a long term research project to find out for sure It's easily fixed by adjusting the spring plates and as someone else said, those Carlos fandango wheels don't help
It might... although as yours was originally a panel, it should have the uprated commercial use torsion bars as opposed to the lighter duty microbus bars!!
Put a fat German van driver called Klaus in the driver's seat and it'll level off. Fix saggy arse syndrome by tweaking your spring plates (VW put two sets of splines on them for a reason ).
Mine doesent appear to be as bad as jokers at the back but there will be a fair bit of extra weight hanging on the rear end When your finished with it
