  1. After a week off doing diy stuff to facilitate my little darlings i took a day off to replace the pop top roof lining which was a ply one. Wanted a proper one really but also wanted it done now as the ply was rgotten and looked awful. Used white faced hardboard and some d trim..... B&q s best! Didnt think to take a pic with roof up. Nearly finished! Just used some bubbley silvery insulation stuff as thats what i had!

Not sure how the board will hold up but varnished the back in an attempt to give it some water resistance. Not sure if theres anything i can use on the white side!

    Cursed and grumbled.

Was going to put the headlights back in Major, all the wiring is sorted and the bowls have a coat of Waxoyl. Good to go.

Two of the tabs on the IGP front panel far from line up with the screw holes on the Hella headlight cage, one hole is sufficient to mark and redrill two of the others.

    Not amusing :(

However, I did put the cab bunk mounting brackets back on the windscreen pillar

  4. Oh, and for the benefit of @MorkC68 ...removed the screw on my dual-mount antenna to let about a litre of rainwater out ;)...

I'm not listening to aerialgate and the scaremongering tactics you are forcing on me and my very high quality twin mount aerial :D

  8. Seriously, the lower section does tend to fill with water: the mounting screw does double-duty as a drain plug. Also, go easy on the plastic mounting bosses. A good heave on the nuts and they snap off

Cool, cheers! Ill make sure we pop plenty of waxoyl around the metalwork so water doesn't get inside and we certainly will go easy on tightening the nuts up!

I may drill a small drain hole in the bottom section to avoid it filling up.

  10. Def worth putting some clear mastic under the mounting things.

Surprise, surprise the chrome headlamp trim doesn't fit exactly how it should, despite being genuine Hella

The choke wire fell off again. The insulated spade terminal is hitting the fan housing and vibrating off.

So after driving it to work this morning with am AFR reading of 11:1 and idle at 2000 rpm and occasional sulks from the AFR gauge as the lambda sensor sooted up. Very driveable but sooty.

I went out at lunch took out the carb , removed the choke capsule, soldered a wire to it and put some fibreglass sleeving on it and a bullet connector on the other end of the wire, replaced capsule on carb, replaced carburettor and joined the wire to the stub of the original choke power feed wire.
Still had time to eat some biscuits after tidying up and the whole job took about 50 mins.
Drove home and the idle is back where it should be. Put a cover on the bus for the weekend wind and rain.

I don't think so, only had a brief burst of life then battery went flat. I'll give it some attention then decide!
