  2. dreamt i have fuel in oil again and i have to replace piston rings....

  3. Managed to get a 1/2 hour of sunshine this morning so refitted the rear tinware to the engine and fitted a new engine bay seal to keep the cold and warm zones separate.
Not easy getting the bit behind the doghouse to fit especially when its got a bigger cooler fitted to it.

Just come back from 2 weeks exploring the Costa Brava, Spain.
Fantastic....hot and sunny, snorkeling, barbecued fish on the beach.
No problems with our bus...she loved it.
    So did we.
Another adventure and another great memory made with our bus.[IMG]

Was supposed to be going to Hardraw in Gusbus, it poured down Friday plus my journey home from Sheffield (1.30pm) to home (4.10pm) didn't go down well.

    We binned it off :(

So, Gusbus has earned his keep moving boxes from home to storage for our impending move, so its not been a wasted weekend :)

Fitted a new fan / alternator pulley and fan belt . Finally have a round pulley...
Fiddled with the steering idler pin .. yes its a bit worn with a wear step I can feel and all the other junk ones I have are worse.

Discovered that one of the grease nipples on the front beam went missing .. I did not recall knocking it off, couldnt find it on the ground . So it must have been a victim of the ninja welder.. Scott or his mate. Took one off my spare front beam and there was a clean hole to screw it into no snapped grease nipple . Strange.

Adjusted the steering box , tightened the handbrake adjusters.
Moved the split charge wire coming from the splitter diodes to the leisure battery. Changed it from a flying fuse holder over to one bolted to the spare wheel well.

Got out a steam cleaner so I could steam some curves into plywood panels.
And found an original almost unused Halfords 1/4" drive ratchet handle from the 1980's in the box with the steam cleaner...

  8. Did some jigsawing. Got through two blades, as Bluebird bed boards appear to be made of depleted Uranium. Now have rear speakers for me bangin' drum an' bass, innit.

The trick is to push it across from the left starting it in the gap just to the left of the fanhousing. It will then shuffle across and you can grab the end as it appears on the right and help it along. Then squeeze the rest into the gap meeting up at the right of the engine.

  10. Will you be running them straight of the head unit?

  11. Stripped all roof down, replaced all rivets with stainless rivets, removed skylight so can fit fiamma one, stripped down roof struts and removed head lining. May sell skylight as its only year old with hinges and frame.
Strengthened internal aluminium frame and riveted in all, next job is remove outer frame for paint and fit new inner rubber.

  13. I will, Sir, a rather boring Kenwood unit. Can't be doing with this car audio stuff - leave that to the Barry Boys.

Did make me laugh reading the power ratings on the JBL box - a complete work of fiction...

  14. Finished the ends. Looks ok but got the odd drill hole in the wrong place but beauty is i can remove each panel quite easily. Needs finishing off in the gap between the canvas and the roof at the ends and possibly some lighting at the ends.

Oh yes and a trim over the screws along the side would tidy it up.

  16. Dont just do it. Bandq it. Lol. Lets see how it stands up to a bit of use. That said i think ive found something waterproof that looks ok, has good thermal properties, wipes clean etc and also very lightweight. Can replace a panel at a time i reckon. Quite pleased so thanks.

Tidied up the cupboards and ate some of the food for lunch. Then sewed the steering wheel leather wrap together where the stitching had frayed... there are no animals with a solid 10 metres of skin and that is how long the wrap is.

Done nothing to the rusty beast today (or the last few weeks to be honest) except get it off the axle stands in the driveway so that it can go to its new home.
But I have painted its new abode and fitted some lights so now I have no excuse not to do anything!!! IMG_3158.JPG
