Nothing except said Hi and it's about time I sorted out your brake pedal lapse/dip/slip..business
Need to adjust the rear drums with the handbrake cable disconnected ..bloody faff on my back under the van etc.
Then I'll need to work out which way to turn the star adjusters if they are willing... and slacken off 'til they just catch.
Reconnect the handbrake cables to three or four notches.Hopefully that should solve the problem , otherwise it could be a new m/cylinder:eek:
    Suggestions always welcome...
Sure it would get sorted if I could get to Teckenders....................

  6. Today I drove to Sunny Hunny all was well.
We had fish and chips and wondered around with my wife and dog.
Any cut it short we were heading back home on the a47 dual carriageway doing around 100kmh and I jokingly said should I do a top speed run?
Any way I suppressed the accelerator and saw 110kmh and past it so I buried it to the floor and then I felt it didn’t want to return. My first thought was f@*k it’s stuck, but noticed the engine died down. I pulled into a layby and while on the phone to the RAC removed the front cover to check the throttle linkage. I noticed the cable had snapped. I refused to wait the 5 hour for Recovery and tied the carburettor throttle link to give me around half throttle and drove home at a max speed of 70kmh in top gear.

What T6 ...if your spending why not a camper ...no more rolling round like a crocodile underneath fixing lots of wrong things ;)

  8. Not just today but fitted some new roof struts (last week) a bit of a nod with a second pair of struts and some new roof latches as the old ones keep breaking.

  9. I experimented with different value zeners so the regulator works OK, but my replacement sender is almost entirely pointless, so only full and empty are in the right place on the gauge.

Did I dream it or has somebody invented a circuit that overcomes this?

  10. Mine works fine over half full! Below that it looks like a rev counter!

  11. Picked up the Devon fibreglass bit from the inlaws, his garage had space to paint the roof.

I brimmed mine yesterday from deep in the red.
Took £42 and gauge went to just over half full!

  15. Well, you could try and scale it, but if the sender's not working properly across the range, not really worth it.

Changing the regulator output voltage (zeners don't make particularly good regulators in this application, despite VW using them in later kit) will only allow you to tweak the "full" indication.

As an experiment, I swapped mine out for one of the cheap buck-regulator boards from China. Works pretty well. I'll do a write-up sometime.

Have a look on here, some sort of voltage or ohm something or other....

I have no connections to them and not used them myself but some of their stuff seem rather interesting. Probably too technical for Doug

  20. Fitted the new cab door seals - it's true that the expensive ones fit much better than the cheapo ones!! I also re-covered the base of my drivers seat with a spare cover I had in the garage replacing the crappy ripped one... quite a productive day in the end before it started raining.
