Looking at sorting the upholstery on my van soon, and was wondering do people have problems with sweating your tits off when the bed foams have got vinyl covers on, I know people put a sheet down first, but are cloth covers more suitable as they're more breathable? Any opinions welcome...
I found vinyl covers cold to sleep on in chilly weather even with a sheet. Did find it got pretty hot in the summer I much prefer fabric myself
with mine i was looking at doing reversable, vinyl panels on one side (to look nice) and flip over with fleece material on other side to sleep on so no sweating..
i think wipe clean would be good in certain company , but i cant afford leather at the mo, pvc just doesnt do it for me im afraid
n not seen sir zeds van but yes, worn leather look, whisky decanter and polished wood.. more work for me i think
I have vinyl seats and they're hot to sit on in summer... and cold in winter... my bed is material... and lovely x
Like yourself I wanted the old polished wood and leather gentlemans club effect. This stuff is known as "Rub-off" leather and used by makers of Chesterfield sofa's amongst others. After it was done the top colour looked rather good in the bus and as there's no going back I'm living with it for a while. With the right solution it can be "aged" like this, though I just had a quick go with thinners to see what it would look like. One day I might rub it off all over (ooer misus). The downside of course is it reminiscent of thos awful faux-worn leather jackets everyone wore in the 80's-90's or whenever it was. Cold when it's cold? Yes. Sweaty when it's hot? Not really. I went for this though wouldn't even consider vinyl, but I'm no expert.
