Which one would you sell, which would you keep?

Imagine if you owned more than one vehicle and you had to sell one, or more.

Which would be the one you would keep? How would you choose?

Would you be practical, or vote with your heart? :)

Have you filled all the barns...?:p

  3. Ooh ok. I have a 77Bay, a 60’s Mini, a merc CLK coupe and an Alfa Romeo 159.

    I’d sell the merc.

It’s never worked since the incident with the deep puddle and exiting via the window.

In fact i’ll give it to anyone who wants to fix it.

:) I’ve got 5 at the moment and thinking about downsizing but can’t decide which to sell!

  5. I spent most of my time thinking about cars ! I’ve kept my bay the longest though I do sometimes wonder if I should get something more practical, but I know I will regret it if I sell it , you thinking of selling your bay or the T4 ?

I think I’d agree with your choice :). At least the electric windows still worked!

I am pondering on selling the T4. The problem is, and I’ve been thinking over this the past couple of years, the T4 is v reliable, a good conversion, gets us to Spain fairly cheaply, quickly every year and doubles as my work van if my normal one is out of action. Plus I can leave it outside without it falling apart. We use it like the family car too.

The T2 is fab, cheap to insure, no tax etc but I don’t use it much but I’m voting my heart :)

I can’t decide practical v sentimental that’s why I’ve still got two campers

I’ve got a Seat Inca to sell also.

I think I will keep the Fiat Coupe and defo the Citroen C15. :)

    What are your vehicles? Vans?

  12. It’s so hard, I often fancy a T4 for its practicality, I remember seeing yours at techenders and being jealous thinking it would be so much more practical , only thing that puts me off is if it is Diesel as the government are against them and I need to go into London for Work, I feel your pain

Cheers :). It has been handy, so far, to just jump in and go. I like the Reimo conversion too, second only to the T4 Westie imho. The only downside is we could do with a full width bed now due to middle age spread!

  14. How much would the t4 sell for?

    I would sell the bay
It’s slow, not very good on fuel, no power steering/ electric windows, cramped, expensive, you never use it and it’s brown.

    So bye bye T4

As you say, you love the landmark but.it isn't the go-to for camping or travelling. It's a real excess and a bit of a luxury.
The trouble is, it's the love of the vehicle that binds us to the forum and sentimentally reminds us of past fun times...:(
We have the same dilemma so I feel your internal struggle haha.
Chip has been a massively important part of our lives. No expense has been spared and he's had the best of kit in order to maintain the super reliability we've enjoyed in our trips across the USA and the tens of thousands of miles around Europe since.
However.....we've now discovered the not so beaten track the syncro allows us to travel.
Chip is stored and tbh, is still mint and awesome as we had him out last weekend.
    But....decisions, decisions.
Maybe we should open a museum to all those things we can't get rid of Alex?
I could probably fill half of it...

They’ve got entirely different functions in your life, keep both!
Or sell them both and get a bay with a Scooby conversion and a full width bed for both the Spain trips and techenders!

I've done a lot of thinking over the past few weeks and decided over Christmas that I don't need loads of old things. I have my daily and my Bay, I also own half a bay which I have just acquired with my son in law to restore and then him and my daughter can use it - they're keepers.

I've had a Hillman Imp for a few years which I've slowly been restoring b ut to be honest I'm never going to finish it or enjoy it when it's done, so I sold it and it's gone. Oh the relief, it's like a great big monkeys' gone from my shoulder.

I've also got some old 70's motorbikes and a modernish bike. I used to love the old bikes until I got the Bandit, now hen I ride an old bike it's slow, uncomfortable, doesn't stop, unreliable and generally feels unsafe. So they're all going this year! I shall use the cash to buy a new(ish) Triumph T120 that'll tick every box.

I've also been clearing out all stuff that I don't use and putting the money into something that'll give me pleasure. It's a great feeling :D

Good solution. Get @pkrboo Matt and Nick to fit a Scooby to the landy and retro fit a decent bed.
Sell the t4 to fund it.
A fixed bed like we have in Big G would allow the use as a plumbers van when required...
