  1. Looks great Jim. I think that one’s been on a YouTube channel but I can’t remember which one?

Yeap, it was Nutjob. Ben is the guy selling it.
    Here it is!

I went for a look on Monday, driving in a LHD split with no seatbelts was terrifying! The bay and even the baja felt like luxury compared to it.
(apologies for the thread hijack @Flakey!)

    Well it’s certainly red!
Going to flat it back and give it another coat.
The long panel is never going to be straight, windows welded back in and too many fights but it is what it is, I’m not going to be asking £40k for it so…

    Looking great Dunc!
Are you keeping the outside plain, or adding any signwriting/Fire Engine livery?

Cheers, I don’t think we know what livery it would have had so probably just leave it blank.
Though I am partial to a stripe

It's a mystery in our relatively uncontrolled conditions but if the panels are below a certain temp you're screwed. And dew point. Oop here only in recent days have we got a point where I'd paint inside my boat and then only mid afternoon. I'm doing stuff in there and been itching to make a start, but it's pointless if anything I expose will be technically "wet" most of the time. :)

One rogue-ish painter on the place I used to work had painted all his life in one cheapo unit or another. He was very good with the gun but ultra lazy with the prep. He was also mystified. One day you slap it on as quick as possible to meet a deadline and it comes out like a mirror. Another you really try hard and it comes out bad. So you think - slap it on. You slap it on deliberately and it's bad again. It comes down to "Let the force be with you".

Yep, I thought I wanted to get it done whilst I had plenty of room in the bigger workshop before I’d promised to move out at the end of last month.
Turns out it was much better in the smaller shop because I can get it consistently warmer, drier and cleaner, plus the extra prep of course!

Split headlights are a bit more involved than a bay but at £275 for a full pair I thought I’d best renovate what I’ve got

Best do one at a time so I don’t get all the bits mixed up

I’m sure it was you who said it flattens out a bit over time!
