I like the Asylums for the history and beautiful architecture. There is something very humbling standing in a once grand establishment and imaging what life was like. My other weakness is Caves, I think they are amazing.
Amazing stuff b0dyr0ck2006 I'm amazed there allowed to knock down such awesome structures - the Church in Cane hill was fantastic - its such a crime ,surely they should keep such buildings?
At Cane hill the agreement was the Admin block, Water tower and Church would remain as they were listed buildings. A couple of 'Accidents' happened and the water tower 'fell' over and the church became unstable......mmmm
I'm gutted I lost so many photos. We made it to the top of West Park's water tower, that put the fear of god into me. All the stairs, or what was left of them were made of wood. These towers are 60+ feet high. Got some amazing shots. Same with the padded cell, various mortuarys and other places I've been.
Then the company resposible should rebuild the tower and make the church stable, they should have done a survey before to make sure then got the company to sign it.
Yeah I've been on the site a few years ago and seen the padded cells etc ,you should spend a night there on your own
i alwyas wander what their life was like in the places. Ive read alot of scary stories regarding hellingly. Its only 10 miles ish from me. I wont lie i was well scared going in there. came across 2 beds which had starps for tying people down. never got into the water tower of the big hall due to the workmen. pics on my flickr
