Pole and clamp is fine. There’s no way mine would work with C - channel, but it’s got the kador strip sewn to it. It is so heavy I don’t know how you’d move it along the bus to get the strip in the channel.
I use an old Khyam Motordome. I can put it up on my own and get it down and in the bag in a matter of minutes. No faffing with pumps! It's not massive but it does the job for extra space. We usually put it up next to the van as just a separate tent but it does attach via figure of 8 if we need it. We also have a nice sun shade which we usually attach instead of the awning if the weather is good.
