It's often a case of where they declare their profits, so they can load up costs artificially in a low tax regime country. For instance they might actually make the profit/do the business in the UK but structure things so to technically break even or even make a loss, then have part of the chain elsewhere and declare a questionable very profitable cost to it. It's a kind of equivalent to "adding value" enabling companies to describe their product as made in the UK because that's where they stuck a sticker on and packaged their Chinese manufactured goods. Is it Tax dodging? I'd say it is - because there is no worldwide set of rules to control it, it's not possible for individual countries to stop it. I think you might find almost every country in the world is infuriated at this lack of possible action, apart from those that halved their tax rate because 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing.
I prefer not to deal with Amazon, on the basis that you are feeding a robber baron. I prefer not to deal with Facebook on the grounds you are feeding evil. So I am left with eBay.
I've never used Amazon and never will, unethcal and dangerous egomaniac. Shame he came back from space.
I do try to minimise my Amazon use Ebay are great for fixings, bolts and washers, etc. I've never tried to sell anything on there though I usually try to find an alternative supplier first for most stuff i.e. proper specialists if possible, to try to keep them in business
Not just that, but he is doing not a lot with all that money .. His space company is keeping up with Boeing in terms of under-delivery.
Have given up selling on eBay it’s to expensive has to many idiots and it’s normally a load of hassle. I don’t buy much on there for the same reasons plus it’s mostly new stuff gone are the days of someone emptying their garage. Amazon is quick, easy and I’ve found any problems are quickly sorted.
