I stopped doing DD many years ago after being stitched up at a time where I couldn't afford to be prepaying over the odds for utilities. The problem is, if you don't do DD, many companies add 'administrative charges' to your bill. In Shell's case, they add 4 quid per fuel per month. At least Shell offer a DD for paying just the accrued bill, rather than paying a DD for some amount pulled from the air which they can change when they feel like it.
Did a precautionary test in advance of starting a new job on Monday.................. I've had worse colds TBH.
I'm supposed to be repairing my sons Polo exhaust in advance of an MOT - its the original one piece VW system - been quoted silly money to replace, and fantasy money (more than the car is worth) if they have to replace the CAT as well.
theres still a fair few infections .. 6 adults at wifes school this week lots of colds, people arn't testing
I only tested because of a new job, it just feels like a cold, I'm well enough to be scrambling around under my son's car.............. It would be interesting to know how many people who, fully vaccinated and boosted like me, are still catching it. So far 4 of my 5 family members have had it, all after being fully jabbed to the extent recommended.?
Our energy saving heating tip is an electric blanket on the settee - switch it on for 1/2 an hour and we are as warm as toast and the fire stays unlit. Only down side is it needs straightening up every hour - but not electrocuted ourselves yet .
I'm going to suggest urinating into hot water bottles, and sitting under scratchy woolen blankets like our nans had. We are getting to the age when the smell wont bother us.
I've just checked my tarrif with a couple of those comparison thingies https://switch.which.co.uk/ and Money Saving Expert one They've not found anything better than my current supplier, even with the increase - unless it hasn't been calculated in yet. Octpopus Energy do a referral thing - £50 to you and £50 to me https://share.octopus.energy/open-ape-973 Not had a problem with them, 100% renewable and good customer service when I have had to contact them.
Government response to poor people freezing their knackers off next winter seems to be a £200 loan. Jeez. Really hoping to be as self sufficient as possible by the time I hit OAP age as my pension isn't going to keep me warm. If I can get it down to elec only in the winter with solar and lithiums the rest of the year I'll mostly just be scavenging fuel for the stove and buying propane for cooking. I'm praying that we get more mild winters like this one has been, we've been lucky this year - imagine your gas bills if it had been a proper winter! That huge house ya bought isn't looking so smart now heating it is a consideration is it? Will the future be like cars - small is the way forward? I think it will, it's saved me a fortune cramming myself into a boat.
Lucky dog owners get free dog eggs. Don't waste them! They might even burn on the stove though personally I'm sticking with burning plastic bags.
