    Hope you get over Covid quickly to get Henry back.. I had symptoms for a week, started testing, negative .. then finally got a runny nose.one day off WFH with a very positive test.. three days later the tests are back to faint.. vaccinations seem to have worked.

    I'm not sure whether it's to hold the choke out for a bit, or to get in the way and remind me that the choke is out.... but it was an important part of the 'Introduction to Henry' talk!

    So today is the day to go and collect Henry!
    Exciting times :)



    Or possibly not.

    We got about 400yds out onto the main road when the new fuel pump packed up. Arse.

    This is after pushing him into an icy field gate, and managing to execute a ‘manually propelled’ three point turn.

    and this is when Nigel the Morris mechanic’s rather thin tow pole snapped, and he went back to try and find a tow rope.

    At least we’d retro fitted some hazard lights!

    Hey ho.
    Henry is now back where he started, awaiting another new fuel pump.
    Maybe next weekend……

    Apparently fuel pump and rotor arm have now been sorted and there is a slim chance of collecting him mid/late afternoon.
    I should be enthusiastic, but the idea of setting off home again, when it's starting to get dark.... but it'll be fine, nothing can possibly go wrong this time?? :eek:

    My Westy had a moggie minor fuel pump. I had to replace it's points once (£1.25) but otherwise it was great. Just thought I'd mention that. :)


    They have a history of getting stuck and needing a tap with a hammer - think it's the points that get stuck. A new one shouldn't pack up obviously.

    Interesting. Maybe it just needed a tap - it was very hot to the touch so possibly something was sticking. I'll try that first next time. (hoping there won't be a 'next time'!)

    Remember having to tap the series 1 Landrover fuel pumps when they got stuck ...same fuel pump as the moggy one i think . Were they SU pumps ? . They were situated near the very spartan wiper motor .
