  1. I have no M plate in my bus how can I get one?

  2. Where have you been looking for it?

  3. me neither

  4. Are your busses German built, or Aussie?

  5. Mine is german built, its a walk through so I have looked on the bulk heads and under dash nothing, can I get a new one?

  6. If it's German, should have one. Have you looked on top of the metal fresh air trunking under the dash (pass side)? Can be quite hard to spot.

  7. will have a look when I get to it next time and let you know

  8.
  9. if there is no m plate then there are not many legit reasons to remove it

  10. Mines behind the passenger seat on the bulkhead, if it's been removed from there there should be two holes where it was rivitted on. If there aren't any chances are it's elsewhere.

  11. if no m plate is present ,id be a bit suspect as to the reason why it was removed ,the m plate is a major selling point for some rare vw,s......you cant get a new one as it wont be correct for your bay ,as its contains info on the bay it is meant for ..

from what ive read on vw bay history ,nearly all models came with a m plate ...i would not buy a bay without one myself .

have you recently purchased this bay ?

  12. also pm birdy on here ...he might be able to help you out using the vin number ?just a idea

  14. yes mate also it might be a ringer ...esp the spate of bay thefts in the last few years .....buy a crap cheap bay ...change m plates over to a stolen bay and weld or make vin,s in and jobs a gooden........

  15. The M-plate just lists manufacturing options (as well as the VIN, as I recall).

The VIN itself appears elsewhere, including being stamped on the curvy pressing in the engine compartment (this is where my MOT man looks for it, as the M-plate's more or less invisible).

So...M-plate more to do with options rather than the vehicle ID.

  16. still no reason to remove one , I would just check (as you would when buying) that log book and engine pressing vin numbers match and not look to have been messed with
