  1. That’s something then:lol:
It’s never going to be perfect with roller painting it but it’s good enough :)

The finish suits the bus and it's the same all over.

  3. I’ve started on the other door

  4. Finished prepping the cab door both sides and gave it a quick coat with a rattle can to seal it and give a consistent colour base coat.
Hopefully when I come to roller paint this one there will be no funny reactions.

So... when will you run out of things to do and finally build that engine cat?

    You must be getting close?
    What's left to do now?
Painting is boring, I wanna see some engine action. :food:

  9. Sanded back peeling paint on the gutter to the original paint and treated some small bubbling underneath where the window seal sits.
Gave it a coat of epoxy paint to seal it up for now.

  14. Yup
Cut down gate hinges and coach bolts
    IMG_0007.jpeg

Did you replace your skylight when you refurbed your pop top?

  15. Same cheapo hinges mounted on a piece of ply fibreglassed to the roof !!

I replaced the vent when the mechanism broke a couple if years before i got the material replaced . I think mine was 400 x 400 mm , same as this ...

Easy enough and you need to replace the wood it`s mounted on , not forgetting to seal the whole lot with white silicone

EDIT :- don`t be tempted with a motorised fan vent - far too heavy !!

    :hattip:

  16. Mine were bolted through a box section at the rear of the roof so not too bad
I’ll put the hinges in the powder coating pile and re use them.
There perfectly functional after all but I won’t be using the coach bolts again.
    Cheers for the link:thumbsup:
The wood underneath mine is still in perfect condition so I’ll re use that.
I was amazed that all the screws came out no problem.
The sky light is quite old and tatty so I think it’s worth replacing whilst the pop top is off
I’m going to see if I can find a dark tinted one.

The thought of fitting a fan assisted vent did cross my mind
But I’ll stick with the kiss principle.
I’ll probably use non setting butyl rubber tape to seal it from water ingress.

  18. @Lasty
Is your roof lifting mechanism the same as this or is yours a little more refined?

Looks a little bow & arrow but if it works...
Nice clean / finished edges too - you can tell it's not a Devon!
