Yes, I think you might tell more of a difference with a lighter car .. Despite VW making a large number of different SVDAs which differ amongst themselves more than those 123 curves, you cant really tell the difference on a stockish bus. To make it really go you need to head for the knife edge of overheating and detonation and back off as it runs away...


I had all the choice in the world for my latest electronic ignition project .. and then I used a Bosch 205AL curve as my inspiration..

 

Then theres the go to the scrappy and get another manifold approach..

Although smashing the back off it so you can get an ordinary deep socket on it or even a rattle gun socket may also work.. they do come apart quite easily with a hammer.
