Drove to pick up the front beam from @mattw - thanks for that and nice to meet you.
Drove back to sit on my friends’ veranda

Then I drove home and a few turns from home the right hand indicator started flashing double time.
    Quick fix and fiddle

  3. I temporarily dug mine out of winter hibernation! Had to cycle 23 miles to get it, but drove like a dream on the way home. The daily is being serviced on Wednesday, so will try to use it everyday this week whilst it’s not too horrendous weather.

Drove it 125 miles today to Kent from Southampton. Ran well except the engine cover popped open between Southampton and RHS Wisley. I am halfway through fixing the hinges, so it doesnt pop open as much as it used to..

Did you have help from Toni Braxton?
I’m sure she sang about doing that.

  10. Currently it’s just concrete but the Axminster is going in soon, I wouldn’t park the bus on anything else. :)

  11. Doesn’t everyone carpet their garage?

Started taking apart the old alternator that I had to swap out a few years ago as one of the wires had burnt out on the internal regulator.
I had a picture somewhere of the old wiring which I can't for the life of me find. Does anyone know how the wires connect to the baseplate on the alternator? It's one of these:

While the gearbox is in hospital and the engine is out, there are a couple of jobs that are easier to do. One of these is the dipstick rubber. Having bought a Viton one in the group buy a couple of years ago, now is the best time to fit it. When I put the engine in I left the brand new rubber one on that I'd fitted as I thought it'd be ok for a while. Of course it leaked from the word go. Interesting to compare

Blimey, that's put on a bit of weight!

Is there not a male and a female crimped spade there.. should be obvious if those are the correct ends as it will only go one way around.

You'd hope so right! Nope both ends are female.
One terminal is smaller than than other though, but that's not of much help either as the baseplate terminals are the same size. Might drop coolair a message to see if they have any ideas.

  18. This morning I removed the camouflage net under which the bay has been concealed & fired it up for the first time since October. Not first compression stroke, but no difficulty in starting. Drove it down to my man with the spanners for a set of tyres, a service & a tune for the new season. While it's there, he'll be attending to the cupboard, the bottom of which broke after I over-filled it with beer, tightening my squeaky RnR bed and having a look at my creaky wiper mechanism. I told him in no uncertain terms that when he returns the bus to me the wipers must be the most ruthlessly efficient & silent of any vehicle he has ever worked on.
