Please do not base your choice on premium alone. There are many threads on here showing the appalling way companies act. Most use underwriters who pay to advertise under branded names to whom they have no connection. Proof of the pudding is not premiums alone ,but how your claim was dealt with . Beyond my capability but would , perhaps be a good thread with a list of companies \ chart etc. Perhaps also a source of support / sponsorship for the site ?
That’s a good point , it’s always a minefield ( when that time of year comes around ! ) the situation & choice is sometimes beyond our comprehension & control, maybe as you suggest get members of the forum to divulge their experiences of companies/ underwriters/ customer support /& like you say claim handling …..it could make things a little clearer , & who knows , a company may emerge which could benefit this community’s members best ?
Have just renewed my insurance heritage £195. on street parking. agreed value £25k. Tried hagerty said they will not insurance me because i haven't got a daily drive car,told them i don't need one there lose. i also had a new speed fine sp30,no extra charge.
I’m also with Heritage and always have been. Last year they offered a multi car Policy with European cover etc for bus and Defender @£600 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My renewal with Classicline would have been £235 and renewing agreed value is frequent and not that cheap. Hagerty £177, they don't charge for agreed valuation. On drive, limited mileage. Both companies underwriters are ok as far as i know.
Well now that these quotes are coming thro, don’t suppose it’s too bad at £170 all in ……but my point is it’s a 30% hike which I can usually negotiate down , I’ve never paid more than £135 ……but no more ?

I've generally found them ok....until I sold my van. I had nearly four months left of a £173 premium, they offered to keep the policy 'live' for me for my next van?! When I declined they did a fag packet calculation and said that, after their and the underwriters fees, I actually owed them money, but on this occasion they would waive it! I was too dumb struck to argue and just hung up.
Minus 1 for Hastings btw. Wrote off and towed away a MK2 GTi without discussion and played hardball after ... It was a front wing replacement
All feed back has been much appreciated, so just to update : I objected to the 30% increase in policy premium £133 with Carole Nash , who I have been with for 20 yrs , at the time the operator said he couldn’t do anything about reducing the £175 premium , I shopped around & didn’t really get a better deal so after a fortnite , phoned back up closer to renewal day & spoke to someone else who dropped the price to £141 This is fully comp , limited mileage 3K, European Breakdown & agreed value all in , thanks again , hope you all have similar success
