Unfortunately I've been outvoted and I'm having to endure the Masked Singer! What a..... Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk
When not being subjected to trash TV I've been listening to Fontaines DC and The National quite a lot recently, both highly recommended
How on earth can you tell?! Finished the day, inspired by @CollyP‘s YouTube link, by listening to War of the Worlds on vinyl.
I do, Japanese direct drive turntable pron at it's finest. On certain other forums I have been known to inhabit, a debate would now follow on the merits of @scrooge95's British Rega P3 with it's belt drive versus your wonder of Japanese feedback laden direct driven cleverness.
Haha, well I am slightly biased obviously. Been a long time since I’ve had a turntable laden with electronic wizardry. The Rega was £200 secondhand in 1993.... a lot of money to me back then, but I think it has more than earned it’s keep over the years. I do owe it a service though, so I need to do some YouTube researching, as the place it used to be taken to has closed down. Eek.
I mentioned on here recently, how Midnight Oil decided to revisit their 80's projects on Australia's First Nation People and how second time around they involved the very folk they were aiming to support, but omitted to involve, all those years ago. This one isn't full of rock anthems like Beds are Burning, but it's growing on me; yellow vinyl is a bonus
Dead easy to set up and service, just bring it to TE next time we get chance to go. As long as you have the box for transit?
I've had a few sets of technics 1210's - good for dj's, but doubt they would beat other turntables on sound quality.
They would if you put on one of those tonearm that's on @scrooge95's Rega on it! That tonearm of Sarah's is a giant killer!!! You can buy a kit, seriously!
It was 2nd hand in 1993!! I’m not sure it ever had THE box, but I can sling it in A box ( thank you for the offer of a service at TE, that would be appreciated .... if we ever get there!) (Sorry, everything seems to be able to be made smutty today!)
If you can't find the box, remove the platter and make certain your tonearm won't come off the clipped rest; then put it in a box on a bed of bubble wrap. I shall bring my special tool for the job....not to be out smutted PS I shall post a piccy of my tool shortly, before someone asks....
