  1. What a great idea, I have often wondered exactly the same thing. If anyone in West Yorkshire fancies a drive swap give me a shout!!

i have driven quite a few over the years , owned three and loaned three , they are all pretty much of a muchness unless they have been neglected re front suspension , i think Holmsens would be a different experience though - parp !

  4. Really good to meet you yesterday Top Banana and thanks fornletting me drive your bus.

The thread where I got lots of tips for tightening up a floppy gearstick was:

    http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/floppy-gears.20312/#post-332001

There is another good thread here somewhere about getting the position of the gearstick base plate in the best position to make it more positive finding all gears, however I can't seem to find that thread now. Am sure others will be able to help you as ever though should you have questions/problems.

Am hoping to get under my van later to take a look at my non-working brake servo. Am hoping it's nothing major.
Anyone any suggestions on how best to go about diagnosing brake servo assistance not working? I'm going to start by checking that the non-return valve is functioning correctly (and in the right way round!) but no idea where to look next if that turns out to be ok.

    Thanks.

    Nick.

  7. To follow up on the braking problem TopBanana noticed with my van...

Checked my brake booster non-return valve at the weekend and although it appeared to work fine when blowing through it, when I took it out and bypassed it the servo assistance appeared to kick back in to life.
So, ordered a new one which arrived this morning, and have just fitted it and indeed my brakes do seem to have some servo assistance again )

Not sure it's fully as it should be, but is definitely better than it was - will need to drive someone else's van again now to re-compare the brakes!

Steering idler pin is next on the list from my meet up and van drive swap with TopBanana.

    Nick...
