Yeh I feel you all LB bruvs. I don't mind it. Simples to reverse up the drive in the garage but she refuses. It's a good plan for the safe area and I might try that. Tbh it's not a major problem but we are wanting to do some two week tours of Europe and would be nice to share.
Between labour, parts etc... £1500-£2000 ask me how I know that Would I do it again no way an ar$e ache to do AND source parts :arrggh: :arrggh:
My old van was a LHD, someone had converted it to RHD, my current van is LHD, I did plan on converting it but now I like it as it is, I could convert it myself quite easily but I'm not going to. I've got used to it now & I love it
LHD is groovy man. The only time you suffer is overtaking. In a bay you need such a long run-up to pass anything it ceases to matter which side you sit. I love mine and honestly you need to give your (newish) wife a slap. She'll feck you over in the long term so might as well get one in now. I'm not bitter though. ;D
like zeddo says overtaking is crap - but rare, the hardest thing i've found (honestly) is trying to get past the slow moving bin lorry in the village! if i hold back to get a view somebody behind thinks i'm pulling in and overtakes me! the benefit for me in small welsh lanes is knowing i can get close to the verge and pass things coming the other way, i can honestly say i'm fairly comfy with lhd although mrs roo gets nervous sitting in the middle of the road with no wheel to hold onto she says.
i ve got both a lhd and a rhd drive buses which i drive both daily (i use factors like which has the most petrol ,least likely to break down, how many kids i ve got to pick up etc ) and tbh honest the side the steering wheel on is nt a factor at all i think being a passenger in a lhd bus is not good though
Yep I think that's the crux of the matter - it's fine for the driver, but a Marmiteter for the passenger unless they're made of stern stuff. Maybe your missus would be happier driving than being passenger, possibly being passenger is what's put her off.
