  1. thing is my kids love being in the passenger seat of the lhd drive one :)

  3. I intend to covert mine. Doesn't look hard but I have all the parts and am very good with a welder. Do it, don't listen to the the replies; it will make the van easier to drive

  4. my misses still has RHD ,me sitting as a passenger ,sometimes she loves looking at the scenery ,not good for me in the middle of the road watching a massive truck heading towards me ,sometimes she does cross the line... C:)

  7. A great mix of opinions which I'm grateful for peeps. It's a difficult one cos I'm not really fussed. I'm a bit annoyed with her indoors cos it was a joint dream to own and use a bus but she's practically saying you will have to drive everywhere. I can handle that most of the time but the once or twice it would be nice to have a break.
It does sound like a lot off effort for little gain and I will consider trading it in for RHD if I found a suitable one.

Never mind. Maybe she will come around and like you've suggested go to a remote place for a test to change her mind.

you'll soon find on this site we never agree - unless it's a question like "is rick a bit of a tit"

  10. I love driving it. She's scared as she has never driven left hand drive and is worried about visibility on the blind side. These things are a bit of a handful cos of their age and if your not a confident driver then I guess it's worse lol

  11. My mrs problem with drive ing the lhd drive one is 2nd gears to easy to find lol

  12. Mine's a LHD and even my daughter got used to it almost immediately. Nowhere near as hard as it looks, probably because the vision in a bay is so good (and it goes so slow)

  13. Great thread.

I have a LHD Westy and its lovely to drive. Thing is I can see whats going to come past me through the side windows and I have a swivel captains chair so that helps make the most of the cabin space when we stop. I wouldn't want to convert it to RHD as the interior layout wouldnt' work and its lovely as it is.

I can imagine a panel van being much harder as the view behind/to the side would be very limited so I do get the point of a conversion, or big truck mirrors.

Zed, I laughed myself hoarse at the Harry Enfield clip. I thought it was very funny indeed....until I showed it to Linda and realised I was in fact wrong and its not funny at all.

  16. It can be a pain for those who hover in your blind spot instead of a decisive overtake. Luckily I have a window in the sliding door so can give you a little more visibility.

Both of ours are left hand drive and, if I'm honest, I'd choose left hand drive over right anytime! I've never drove a right hand drive bay one day maybe I will, who knows! If the time ever came to get a different one I'd go led again

Rixy did a lhd to rhd conversion - his threads in resto somewhere

  20. I know someone's already mentioned values between LHD and RHD but if I was a paying punter I would choose a LHD over a RHD conversion any day.
