Westy orange van that has the green tartan interior - the Germans thought green and orange worked well together

Lovin the work on the interior. Really finishes it off nicely.

My spare wheel (and jack etc) live in the well under the front bench seat but I may well look at lining it out having seen how good yours looks.

Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery and all that ;)

Made myself a canvas road tested it today. All was well.
I have not tried it in the rain yet. I also need to add some loops so the canvas can be fastened up both sides and the rear.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

What stops the tongues blowing free from the loops? Don't you need turnbuckles?

Correct me if I'm wrong but those look like stiff leather.
    Time will tell. :)

Yeah, some have leather, but a lot just have canvas straps, too.
The one from nlavw has canvas. There's also a company in the USA they give a choice of canvas or leather.
I originally bought leather, but after trying it, it's really hard to pull it out the clips. Just to put down one side, I'd have to undo 6 straps, so I used canvas instead. I still have the leather straps that I could swap out if the canvas ones don't work out.[IMG][IMG]

    Making a 4m full-length rack
I used a few blocks of wood to set the height it should be finished in a day or two.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Roof rack finished. I decided not to paint it. It still has the coating on from the steel manufacturer. All I've done at the moment is clear lacquered all the welds... see how it goes. I can always take it off and paint at a later date.
I have plastic dipped the feet and the brackets where they touch the roof.
Also made some tie ups to hold the canvas up.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    I've loads left.
Rack cost me £140 to make better than £1000 that second hand full length racks are selling for.[IMG]

The speed your’e working on Marmalade is impressive.

I need to get my finger out.

I’ve got a new headlining to fit and still want to trim the spare wheel well like yours.

    Great work

I expect you will be driving around slopping tins of paint about the place giving it an authentic look :)
Are you getting it vintage sign written?
